Beginning his Jiu-Jitsu journey in October 2011, Alun started training under Neil Simkin at Simkin Martial Arts, where he quickly developed a strong technical foundation and passion for the art. His dedication was recognised when he earned his blue belt in November 2013 from Neil Simkin.

From 2017 to 2019, Alun continued to refine his skills under Stu Gwilt at Gracie Barra Halesowen, gaining valuable experience and expanding his understanding of both the technical and competitive sides of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

In 2019, Alun joined Black Country Jiu-Jitsu, where he became a core member of the team. His progression continued under the guidance of Tim Cash and Dave Weston, earning his purple belt in October 2020 and later his brown belt in June 2024.

Over the years, Alun has developed a well-rounded style, combining solid fundamentals with a deep understanding of modern grappling concepts. His journey reflects more than a decade of consistent training, discipline, and commitment to continuous improvement — qualities that make him a respected member of the Black Country Jiu-Jitsu community.
